What is S.H.A.R.E.?

S.H.A.R.E. stands for Self Help and Responsive Education. These are highly effective, intensive one and two-day programs designed to assist in the prevention of PTSD/PTSI and Suicide in the First Responder and Veteran communities.

Our programs are nationally accredited through IDALEST (International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training). Our Command Staff courses and First Responder courses, provide officers with 14 credit hours of training.

 

One-day INTRO to Peer Support:

A training or workshop session in a gymnasium with participants seated at tables and presenters at the front.

This program offers step-by-step building blocks to create a basic peer support program or serve as a universal training model to create a standard of training for your existing program members. The course is written in an easy to follow outline to ensure that each peer support member has the basic listening, communication tools AND protocol steps needed in order to deliver solid peer support in crisis and non-crisis situations.

Two-Day Command Staff Training:

The Command Staff program is a two-day, leadership-based, wellness program designed for leading with new perspectives for the RETENTION of staff and the PREVENTION of Post Traumatic Stress and Suicide of staff. Learn how to integrate Command Staff as active participants in department and officer wellness, suicide prevention and PTSD awareness programming. Learn how to implement accountability strategies for emotional health department wide. Connect with other departments for innovation and strategy on these topics.

Two-Day First Responder Training:

This is a two day-stress education, and wellness program for First Responders and Veterans. This program is designed to educate and equip personnel with better coping mechanisms and an understanding of their stress response and how it affects their work and quality of life.  This is for the PREVENTION of Post Traumatic Stress and Suicide.

One-Day Family Member Training:

This one-day program is designed to equip family members with a better understanding of stress responses in themselves and their First Responder/Veteran family members and how family dynamics can improve. 

One-Day Physical Movement for Stress Reduction:

In an effort to promote the self-care practices necessary for managing stress, and stress disorders such as PTSD, Code 9 offers S.H.A.R.E. Movement Workshops.

The S.H.A.R.E. Movement Workshops focus exclusively on the physical movement and relaxation components of self-care. The courses are a great kick start foundation for implementing officer wellness programs within your department.
